Our vision is to develop an inter-generational and multi-functional space within Prairie Park (the area north of Prairie View Elementary School) that will provide a positive recreational and physical activity area for community members of all ages and abilities to enjoy.
We are Moms. We are Dads. We are Grandparents.
We envision the park to include:
• Modern and safe playground equipment
• An interactive zero-depth aquatic spray park
• Picnic area with gazebo and memorial
• Walking paths throughout the park to ensure inclusion of community members with mobility aids
• Soccer pitches
• Updated basketball courts
• Washroom facility
We aim to raise the funds to build this vision through community fundraising initiatives, corporate sponsorships and grant applications.
Phase I will include playground equipment, picnic area, gazebo and memorial to Corporal Shane Keating. The playground equipment is being planned with input from children through our Dot-mocracy and built together as a community on our 'Build Day'. This event will see volunteers of all ages working together to make Dalmeny A Great Place to PLAY. Our goal is to complete Phase I in 2014. Projected cost of Phase I is $175,000.
